Intelligent Trees

Synopsis

International cinema hit: released on more than 1,000 screens in France alone (as L'Intelligence des arbres). Can trees really talk to each other? Do Mother Trees care for their young and for old and sick neighbours? Prof. Dr. Suzanne Simard and her colleagues at the University of British Columbia have studied the language of trees. Forester and bestselling author Peter Wohlleben explains how much a community of trees resembles our own. Just below the forest floor lies the 'internet of the forest', a network through which trees communicate, exchange information and pass on experience. The film connects a forester's observations with the science. English original with subtitles in German, Spanish and Portuguese.
